Selo Turvo and Gui Marcondes
invite Brad Feuerhelm from Nearest Truth and American Suburb X:

Interrogating Site: São Paulo Syntax

This is a six-day workshop that will explore the dizzying and complex personality of a city filled with hauntings lurking beneath cement-covered waterways and narrow passages. During that week, we will create images and encourage expressions adjacent to photography as well: consider experimenting with drawings, archives, excerpts of text, and appropriated images. We aim not only to explore the image of the city itself but also other physical indexes that reverberate the atmosphere of this specific place.

With the support of artist Gui Marcondes and the editors of Selo Turvo, Brad Feuerhelm will work to create a renegade publication with the results of these sessions, printed in risograph by Panc Press. The book will be published in partnership with Selo Turvo and Nearest Truth, and each participant will receive a copy.

In addition to the group classes, Brad will hold short, individual meetings with the participants to discuss the projects they are currently working on.

After the end of the workshop, there will be a launch party for the publication at Lovely House, the leading photobook store in São Paulo.

Program:

27, 28, 29, and 30/05: Group meetings and artwork production.

31/05 and 01/06: Printing and binding of the publication.

02/06: Publication launch at Lovely House.

Fee:

€300
